Wood veneer

Usually refers to the log from the side of the sliced off the thin, so also known as thin wood. As the veneer comes from wood, it comes with all kinds of exquisite wood grain. As for the types of veneer grain, it is related to different kinds of wood and various cutting methods (such as oblique cut mountain grain, longitudinal cut straight grain, etc.).

Veneer coating technology of decorative lines (generally speaking, veneering) refers to that after the lines are formed, the veneer is covered on the surface of the lines with special coating glue and coating mechanical equipment.

Advantages of veneer coating process for decorative lines

1. Economic benefits. Compared with the log used for the whole line, the cost is saved.

2. It has the natural and beautiful grain of log, and has the same gentle touch as log.

3. Save wood resources. For the lines with cladding technology, the base material can be density board, multi-layer board, or Cunninghamia lanceolata, or even aluminum alloy, wood plastic and other materials. To a certain extent, the slow-growing wood resources are saved, especially the rare and precious wood species with exquisite grain.

On the use of wood covered lines, customers often put forward several requirements errors

1. The thicker the veneer, the better

Most of the lines are irregular, and there are various concave and convex shapes on the surface. The veneer must fit perfectly with the concave and convex structure of the whole line in the process of coating. The veneer material is wood, which has certain brittleness. If the veneer is too thick, it does not have operability in the coating process, especially in some 90 degree angle positions, the thicker veneer will directly crack. The reasonable thickness of veneer used in decorative lines should be less than 50 silk. For some lines with relatively complex shapes, the thickness of veneer should be less than 30 silk.

2. The surface treatment such as wire drawing can't be done for the lines with wood veneer coating process

As mentioned above, the veneer used for line coating is mostly less than 30 wires. If the thickness is forced to draw, the result is to pull through the veneer and expose the line substrate under the veneer. Therefore, after the veneer is coated, the surface of the line can only be made as close as possible to the antique effect of wire drawing by making open paint.

3. About pur hot glue coating and wood finger joint

We can not only require the high quality of PUR hot glue coating, but also do not allow the existence of wood finger interface. Pur hot melt adhesive coating is an irreversible moisture reactive coating process, which is more resistant to high and low temperature and has better stability than ordinary hot melt adhesive, so it is more and more popular (about pur hot melt adhesive coating process, we will introduce it to you later). However, the hot glue coating equipment requires that the supply of coating materials must be continuous, so the single sheet of wood must be finger jointed into a continuous roll before it can be used, so the finger joint has become an inevitable existence.
